One Week With Nora Grace

Nora Grace is one week old today!

What a long, exciting, scary, trying week we've had!

In this week Nora has had a billion IV's, pokes, "lines", cords, X-rays, ultra sounds, and ECHOs. It's completely unreal. She is so incredibly tough. It is no wonder at all how she made it in utero- this girl isn't afraid to give a fight! She is calm, cool and collected- unless you make her mad. Then Nora doesn't give in without a fight. It's awesome. And maybe a wee bit terrifying for Kevin and I in the future?

This week has looked a bit like this:

Kevin sleeping through the night while I had back labor. Oh, the fury.

Finally here! Heart rate of 230 at delivery- There were around 12 nurses and doctors in the room to greet this little lady- and she gave them a show with a heart rate at 230!

Proud Daddy! Day 2!

Soooo Sleepy!

Pre- Operation bed and cord set-up.

I loved my hands in my face in utero, and I love it now!

Showing off my fancy PICC line.

Milk Coma!

Double Chin!

Reading with Daddy!
Pre-Operation Selfie- we were so nervous!

Post-surgery. Recovery was rough!

Such a tough little girl!

So excited to hold her for the first time after surgery!

Bed upgrade!!!!

Waiting- there is a lot of sitting and waiting at this place.

So excited for moving day- moving from the CICU to CPCU!

But on this floor they still do a whole lot of tests...

But we have a window with more of a view, a bathroom, and a wooden door!

It's been quite a week, and we're exhausted, and so tired of the hospital. But, we're getting closer and closer to making it home.

Right now our hurdle is feeding. After Nora's surgery she had a chest tube draining fluid from her lungs. That fluid turned out to be from her lymphatic system, which means she now has a special diet. Nora can no longer have breastmilk for a few weeks and has a low fat formula, which she doesn't love, but help stop that leakage. In order for us to go home, she has to eat using that formula on her own, and get that feeding tube out! It's proving to be the toughest battle yet for this little lady.

Your prayers have been so helpful in getting this little girl this far- just one last prayer- for this little girl to eat that formula right up!!

THANK YOU!
